Menagerie on the Big Screen!

st-menag.jpg Hey all you trek fans! Original Trek’s two hour episode “The Menagerie” will be hitting the big screen at selected theaters on November 13th. Locally it will be at the Swansea Mall Theater.

This is a first for a Star Trek episode and many are looking forward to seeing this remastered in HD with surround sound on the Big Screen. This is the episode that has Spock on trial for attempting to bring a frail and dying Captain Pike to Talos IV — a planet that is currently banned from contact due to problems that happened years ago.

The show utilizes clips from the original failed pilot called “The Cage” with a younger Spock and a different Enterprise crew. I’m mostly an original Trek fan so I might be biased in thinking this is one of the better trek episodes.

My wife and I went to see it last Thursday night and I loved seeing the original Enterprise on the big screen. I wish they had “the Doomsday Machine’ and or “balance of Terror” on the big screen, remastered, too.
Remastered DVD classic Star Trek is out today…Tues Nov. 20. Hurray!
