Some pictures have been released showing some characters from the upcoming Watchmen movie. The movie is based on the graphic novels (okay, comic books) written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons. The movie is being directed by Zack Snyder who did such a marvelous job with 300 so we are expecting great things again.

Watchmen is set in 1985, in an alternative history United States where costumed adventurers are real and the country is edging closer to a nuclear war with the Soviet Union (the Doomsday Clock is at five minutes to midnight). It tells the story of a group of past and present superheroes and the events surrounding the mysterious murder of one of their own.
These pictures reveal the look of the Comedian, Nite Owl, Ozymandias, Rorschach and Silk Spectre. I can’t see it but Silk Spectre is played by Carla Gugino.
Warner Brothers is the studio for this project so I (and many club members!) are hoping we score sneak preview tickets to this. It is definitely on our list to see. Unfortunately we still have a year of anticipation as it gets released March 2009.
