If you love Asian fantasy/martial arts movies like I do then this month brings a special movie for you. Jackie Chan and Jet Li together in a tale of the Monkey King. This movie looks to have great action, beautiful cinematography and some great actors. Joining Jet and Jackie are Michael Angarano (Sky High), Collin Chou and Li Bingbing
While hunting down bootleg kung-fu DVDs in a Chinatown pawnshop, Jason (Michael Angarano) makes an extraordinary discovery that sends him hurtling back in time to ancient China. There, Jason is charged with a monumental task: he must free the fabled warrior the Monkey King, who has been imprisoned by the evil Jade Warlord. Jason is joined in his quest by wise kung fu master Lu Yan and a band of misfit warriors including Silent Monk.
But only by learning the true precepts of kung fu can Jason hope to succeed - and find a way to get back home.
Though written and directed by American filmmakers this was filmed and looks like a Hong Kong movie. Judging by the trailer it seems to mix many of my favorite movies (Hero, Bride with White Hair and Drunken Master) into one film. My only question is: I thought Jet Li retired??
